1988 OMC Tune Up Specs and oil level in outdrive

"I have a 1988 OMC 5.0 Liter C

"I have a 1988 OMC 5.0 Liter Chev. I need to know the point gap and timing setting. The numbers are gone on the tag showing the timing mark number. It is obvious where "0" is.

Also i do not remebber how to check the oil on the OMC outdrive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Point gap .017, dwell 27-31, timing 10 BTDC (unless running very low octane) then timing should be 5 BTDC

"Sorry...forgot about the oil check. Assuming this is a Cobra drive there is big slotted screw in the top of the drive, this is drive dipstick, remove it and you will see a scribed line on it and that is the correct level."
