"I have a 60hp sovereign gale outboard motor. When I took it out this year it will not go forward, but will go in reverse. If I turn the prop by hand sometimes we could get it to go forward. Does anyone know why it is doing this and how I can fix it!Model#60DG14BL Serial#871567"

"Bit of a late reply - but sounds like one of two things - either your linkage is a little out of whack (not quite getting it into gear and you fiddling with it is "locking" it in) or you have something tired in your gearcase.

I would fiddle with the linkage first, that's the easy fix..."
