Is a plastic tank better then an aluminum one

I found out I have a 30 gal fu

I found out I have a 30 gal fuel tank. I have a BB chevy which does not give me much crusing range. I want to replace it so I am asking for some opinions on which material is better. I'm sure each has there own merits.

Plastic tanks do not have baff

Plastic tanks do not have baffels so if going larger would recommend properly designed aluminum tank. They cost about 10/gallon from what I found.
