I have the points adjusted to

I have the points adjusted to the correct gap using a feeler gauge. After I run the engine the points change position and are now closer than what I set them at. I made sure the points definantely secure before putting the cap back on. What could be causing this? Is it because of the dwell lpease help.

"Changing point gap / dwell readings can also indicate worn distributer shaft bushings. Get rid of the points, but check the shaft play too."
