Where can you find what year a

Where can you find what year a motor was made?
I just got a Sears Gamefisher 15hp (that unfortunately won't start)
It has the same model # 217-586350. The Serial # is 18 362365. I need a new transformer but sears.com no longer has that part available (of course)..
Anyone know of any other sites that carry parts for this engine?
