1997 johnson 150 ocean runner no oil light

"I have been getting a no oil

"I have been getting a no oil engine light & alarm, I have oil & it is being consumed. The alarm usually comes on when idling for a while. It also seems to lose the fuel prime when idling also. I have to repump the ball ,then alls fine."

"As the oil pump and fuel pump

"As the oil pump and fuel pump are linked together the VRO may be the problem. What is sure in this case is that when You get the No-oil alarm,You have NO OIL!
Check the following:
Puls line from crank case to VRO.
Check that the puls limiter is not blocking the pulses.
Check that the membrane on the air-pump side (oposite of the oil) is not damaged.(Careful there is are two springs behind the cover, one rather strong)
Check that the puls valve in the pump housing works.
If this is ok, it may be a bad cylinder (low compression) not giving enough crank case over/under pressure. What does the sparks look like?"
