"Mark,

The Gale Buccaneer was made by Outboard Marine (maker of Johnson Evinrude) as a "private brand" motor to be sold to sporting goods and hardware store wholesalers. They first came out in 1950. They were a "budget" engine made to be sold outside the normal distribution market.

If you give me the model number, I can tell you what year it is.

There is additional information and a price guide in Peter Hunn's book THE OLD OUTBOARD BOOK.

" I also have the same motor and would like to find the year of man. and any other info. The one
I have says Buccaneer model 5D10B. 5 hp - 2 cyl.
Also on the cover it does say Sea King 5, with another emblem on the middle front that looks like
an old Montgomery Wards label.
I did see your reference to the Old Outboard Book,
I will check there also. Thanks. "
