"I have a 2002 Johnson, 150 HP motor, model #J150PXSNF. When I start the motor for the first time in the morning, the temp gauge will not increase at all, and the motor does not have enough power to get the boat on plane. If I trim it up or down, the motor speed and RPM actually increases (surges) as I'm holding in the trim button...??
After around 8 to 12 minutes, the temp gauge finally starts to increase, and the power starts to come up as well. The motor then runs fine the rest of the day. Any ideas what would cause this?
Also, my speedometer quit a couple of weeks ago when this problem started (maybe not related).
I have no warning lights coming on.
