"I was just givin a 15 foot sundance tri hull with a chrysler 700 skier on it. the boat had been sitting for three years. a battery and some gas and it fired right up and runs great. What should i mix the gas too? and also i put the engine down into a can of water and no water was coming out of the holes at the rear of the motor. is this normal or should it have water coming out. this is my fisrt outboard so i dont know alot about them, any help would be appreciated."

DO NOT RUN ENGINE if water does not come out of the exhaust holes it will melt.
You need to replace the water pump immediately.
Same happened to me, but fixed and runs fine."
 
are you talking about the exha

are you talking about the exhaust at the bottom or the two holes about 3/4's the way up the outboard?
 
the two holes 3/4 way up back

the two holes 3/4 way up back of engine should pump hot water out after the water has circled around the engine. if nothing is coming out of here there is either a serious blockage or the water pump has disintegrated.
should always replace probably every two years to be on the safe side.
