"I have a 1999 90 hp honda outboard. The motor started missing about one year ago. I have taken it to two shops who have done nothing to solve the problem They overhauled the carburators and added another fuel filter but that still did not solve the problem.
The engine runs fine on idle. At about 1100 rpm the second carburator starts popping and sneezing and blowing out through the air intake about every 30 seconds. The third carb will also pop and sneeze a little but not as bad as the second. This popping and sneezing will continue to happen until the motor is wide open where it is no longer noticeable.
Also, when the engine is running you can unplug the #1 cylinder spark plug and nothing happens. It is like it is not firing. If you unplug any of the other three cylinders, you immediately notice the difference.
I have good clean gas. All cylinders are getting gas and all are firing.
Does anyone have any ideas about what is happening?"
