I have a 1976 omc sterndrive t

I have a 1976 omc sterndrive that is driven by a 351 ford v-8. Am looking to change oil in the engine. I don't have the owners manual. What would be the best weight of oil to use for that engine? Could I put synthetic in that old engine? thanks.

"straight 30 , or 20W50, or 25

"straight 30 , or 20W50, or 25W40. No need for synthetics..synth oil really "earns it's keep" in the winter, not so much in summer...."
