89 omc rochester 2 barrel carb problem

I do not have the little plast

I do not have the little plastic inserts that go into the main well under the veturi cluster. Will this cause problems????
 
I am rebuilding the carb and w

I am rebuilding the carb and when I went to take it appart there were now plastic pieces. I do not know if the prevous owner decided not to replace them but i need to know if this will cause my carb to run bad or can I just leave them out??????
