"HI, Ya'll,
i'm new to the forum & the PROUD new owner of a longshaft 1979 Evinrude model 25905R (which has few hours of total use & was given to me last week)- it's been stored for YEARS, as the 1st owner passed away after a long illness.
it looks very nice, turns freely (with the sparkplugs removed) & seems to have good compression on both cylinders. the gas tank is (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!) both empty & CLEAN!
so what's the problem??? ===> i'm over 60YO & with arthritis in my shoulders & arms, i have a hard time trying to crank it.
so what i'd like to know is does anyone here have a "list" of what parts are needed to convert a "manual start" to an "electric start".
(fyi, due to being near the ocean & many people don't FLUSH their OBs, there are LOTS of "dead" motors around here to strip for parts.)
thanks, tex"
