198685hp force stalls with cover on need help

"I just bought a 1986 bayliner

"I just bought a 1986 bayliner capri with an 85hp force outboard. It starts and runs great with the cover off. But as soon as you put the cover on it slowly stalls. Will not start with cover on, but will start with cover off. Any ideas, need help}"
 
"Sounds like your carb mixture

"Sounds like your carb mixture setting is too lean or your not getting enough oxygen through the engine cowling.

Check the bottom cowling, there should be a few holes in the bottom for air flow, make sure their not clogged.

Should not be much difference with or without the engine cover on! You might need to adjust the idle speed a little higher also to compensate for when the cover is on, but make sure it's in the range your engine manual states."
