"I have a freshly-rebuilt 1990, 90hp.
I'm using a 1995 shop manual to synchronize the carbs with the advance arm. I can't get the butterflys fully open at WOT. When I work the carb cam follower by hand (the on one the bottom carb), the motor goes up to 4000 rpm and beyond, but it the cam follower doesn't move if I use the helm controls.
When I compare the arm that connects the advance arm to the armature plate to the one in the '95 drawings, it doesn't look the same. I have a feeling it may be reversed, but need confirmation.
Does anyone out there have a 1990 manual or picture(s) that show the whole kit from the bottom of the vertical advance arm to the armature plate.
