"There are many fuel additives on the market and most claim to improve fuel economy. I believe they may improve economy by cleaning fuel system, Intake Valves and Combustion chambers but i do not believe they do anything for economy on a clean engine.

Do any of you have any actual proof that any of the name brand additives actualy improve economy on an already clean fuel system and engine?"

Rick has good advice, and to add to that, here is a quote from my owners manual for my 8.1MPI motors that are only a year old.

>>The use of a commercially available fuel stabilizer, such as STA-BIL®, is recommended when storing ethanol blended fuel for more than 2 weeks.<<"

Ditto on the Star-Tron. Used it two years now with "evil-nol" gas and no problems. Even Sta-Bil has an enzyme based additive out now.
