"I just did a water pump replacement and in putting back the lower unit, I realized the shift shaft moved. As I understand it, it must be completely in the down (reverse)position. But I also think it turned a few times (in direction I'm not sure of). What should the height of it be; where do you measure it from? It is a 150 Johnson with a drive shaft lenth of 25". Any help is much appreciated. Thanks."
