"I have an 87 Force 50 on my 14' Bayliner. My trim selections are hard stops with where the motor locking rod is located. I've been running with the rod in the second from top position. I don't use the boat to pull skis or tubes, but to get around fishing lakes, with two to three others (600#). The motor came with a whale-tail cav plate and after a few seconds at WOT it planes out level at 20mph.
Is this good, ok, or do I need to change anything?"
