I have an old johnson 6 hp bought on ebay spares/repair. This has been messed about with but I have had it running. The point on the slow running needle has been re formed(not by me)probably put in a lathe and filed to a point.
I intend to make a new needle, part # 0311340, what I need to know is the original material of the point s/steel,brass etc? the diameter of the point and the length of the taper.
I have been on the BRP website, the link to dealer location don't seem to work, I live in the UK and any help in finding a dealer who can supply the parts I require (carb rebuild kit #383052) would be greatly appreciated.
