I justbought a 14ft

Hey Guys
I justbought a 14ft bass boat with a 1975 40hp mercury 402 on it. The motor runs great and my questionis what could I do to give the motor more speed. It runs probably about 25-30mph now but would like to hot rod it a bit if that is possible. I fish in a Monday night tourney and need more speed if I can make it happen. The boat and motor run great and I have no complaints but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff
 
Make sure the boat is loaded p

Make sure the boat is loaded properly. Check the mounting of the motor. The anti cavitation plate should be very close to being even with the bottom of the boat. Make sure you have the right prop. To do this you need a tach then let us know what RPMs you are turning at WOT.
