"Im changing my impeller and after removing all the bolts the lower end droped about 2in and seems to be held up on the shifter linkage. my question is how do I remove the linkage, is there a clip or dose it just pull off."
 
"No, on some 2-piece rods the

"No, on some 2-piece rods the connection is visible when u drop the lower unit down (like you did).
It maybe hidden behind a plug on the drive shaft housing, either way it should be on the forward side of the housing.

If you look at the swivel bracket u should be able to see the shift linkage running down in that area."
