While online shopping for a trim gauge for my '95 Evinrude Vindicator, it was mentioned that I would need a sending unit *I think* to install a trim gauge. Any way of telling if the motor has one already, where would it be, and if so, how would you test it?

If you have a sending

"Joe,

If you have a sending unit it will be located on the transom bracket. You will find a plastic lever that moves as the engine tilts up or down.

The sending unit is a variable restistance. You can test it with an ohmmeter.
