I recently purchased a boat wh

I recently purchased a boat which has a 1gm10 diesel. The problem is that it runs in the neutral position for about 8 minutes then shuts off and it is hot. We have replaced the water line and am now thinking it may be the impellar.Any suggestions.

"Yes check the impeller and also if you are getting water out your exhaust outlet. Also check and clean the exhaust elbow, There are 2 types. Gooseneck and down angle. Also get your self a Yanmar workshop manual. A good and educational read. It will advise you on repairs and has excellent drawings"
