"i Have i 6hp evinrude,late 60's i think. when i start the engine it runs great. After a couple of minutes it will die. I think that it is running out of fuel. If you let it sit for about an hour it will start again and the same thing will happen."

Fuel tank vent not open/clogged ? Try it with the cap off.

Filter in tank? clogged?

Can you keep it running by pumping the primer ball?
 
Your waterpump is in good orde

Your waterpump is in good order----you have checked halfway down the exhaust housing for water coming out with exhaust?
