1994 mercury 60HP oil alarm

Had this boat for 2 months eve

Had this boat for 2 months every trip always some letdown.Gas lines primers and hoses ;fuel filters;pluges ;wires. tonight oil alarm fishing got cut short.Ican't see any air bubbles in the lines.Can you tell me if i can convert bypass the oil tank ;mix my own oil and gas for this set up.

"Vince the oil alarm does not tell you that there is a "problem" with the oil system, it simply is there to let you know when you are getting low on oil.

The sensors are crap and fail regularly - but the oil alarm does not mean that you need to start mixing your gas.

If the oil system fails, you will never get an alarm...."

Thanks Graham. Oil levels are fine;mabe pump is weak or the sensor alarm needs to be replaced.
