"Is there any benefit to switch from 10w-30 to 25w-40 oil? Engine is 12 years old.

Higher viscosity; Merc. recommends 25W40 for the 4.3L. 10W30 is good for 40 deg. F. and below. Mine is a 1987 remand. in 1996 and I am using 20W50 Mobil 1 this year to see how it performs. So far it has very good oil pressure; 35-40 PSI w/a merc. filter.
