" Joe, I have a 66 20hp Johnson. I know Evinrude made a 18 the dealer here says they are the same. Is mine really 18 or 20? I asked the dealer but didnt get a striaght answer. I think they dont know. "

"Tom.... If that model number is FD20C or FDL20C, you have a 1966 20hp Johnson. FD21=1967, FD22=1968. The "L" simply stands for "Long Shaft". Many parts interchange between the 18hp and the 20hp models but not all.
