"have a 85hp evinrude o/b w/tilt etc.... battery dead & i need to tilt the engine up to move it.... can i do manually & if there a lock or release that needs to be moved?.... thx

"my 72 Evinrude has a "lock/Release" lever. its centered low, outside the cowling near the transom by the steering cable assembly. mine is a bitch to reach. a hot battery is the real fix though. 85's aren't that light."
