"Hi have a kad 300 with 120 hrs having problems getting drive to engage on tickover engine revs to around 2,000 rpm before gear engages with a harsh jolt.Can someone give me an idea what the possible remedies are?"
 
Either shaft spacing wear plat

Either shaft spacing wear plate or sliding sleeve in gear head are worn. Could also be water in drive or high oil level.
