Trying to connect the tach
on the back of the tach there are 4 wires baby blue is for the lights the other 3 black and red (assuming they are positive and negative) last one grey but don't know where to put it on the motor?

Hi I too have a 1972 Johnson 5

Hi I too have a 1972 Johnson 50hp and I have had alittle trouble with it. It was running fine today with full power and then after lunch I started it again and when I gave it full throttle I only got half the power. Why is this. Carbs were cleaned a few months ago. Gas was fresh. Engine still runs fine just with nearly half the power. Could it be something got sucked into a carb valve or port? Seems like a carb problem but I am not sure. Is it easy to clean them out quick. Can you just blow them out with an air gun or does that ruin the inside?
If anyone could help that'd be good. Thanks!
