I am re-assembling a pair of m

I am re-assembling a pair of mid 70's 318s from new and used parts.

Can someone explain in plain English where the notch in the end of the rocker shaft goes on both starboard and port engines?

I'll post the response here.

On Page 27 of the pdf version of the downloadable manual that I have the information states.

1) Install rocker arm and shaft assemblies with "Notch" on end of rocker shaft pointing to centreline of engine and toward the front of engine on the left bank and to the rear on the right bank...

What it doesn't state is that this is standing at the flywheel end and,

that it is the same for both clockwise and counter clockwise rotating engines."
