"I have a 22' Renken boat with two batteries and I was looking at possible getting one of those solar trickle chargers for this boat. I wanted to use it while out on the water when the engine is off and the electronics are being utilized. Any suggestions on which one to purchase. I saw one at West Marine for 80.00...

"Many years ago I owned a 16.5 Starcraft aluminum runabout with a 40 HP outboard with no alternator/charger. Since the boat had an electric bilge pump and a depth sounder, I figured out that one of those solar trickle chargers attached to a 12V battery would generate enough power to feed those two items. Well, suffice it to say that it did not work for me. Maybe the one you are talking about has a better power output than the one I had, though."
