"I am wiring in a new Faria Tach, suppossedly compatible with all outboards. It says to match the arrow to the alternator? what number should this be, it does not work on 4!"

"You don't say what the other numbers are. However, if there is a 6, set it to that number."

"The tachometer operates off of the engine's alternator which emits 6 pulses. The numbers on the tach indicate pulse settings, hence setting the tach on number 6."
