"OK... i'll start with a confession. I had my motor sitting for 2 1/2 years (oh how I hate self employment!) while I was between hulls for my motor.
Fuel had obviously gone bad so I replaced low and high pressure filters, removed and cleaned the vapor separator and reinstalled it all.
Now on starting it idles up and down (1000 to 3000 ish rpm) constantly... i.e. wont settle at that beautiful normal quiet burble.
Can anyone PLEASE give me a pointer of where to start looking at a resolution?"

Should the IAC need adjusting if nothing has changed since last running (running very well too I might add?).
Could it be the HP EFI pump be on the fritz??
Does anyone know what the pressure at the fuel rail (if I put a pressure gauge at the banjo there) should be?
