"88 3.0 omc , cobra stern drive, ok, zerk fitting on gimbal ring, clymer and seloc manuals say to lubricate with omc marine wheel bearing grease, is it ok to use castrol multi purpose marine grease, that says on the cartridge it is basicly wheel bearing grease, saltwater resist, etc, ?"

"I would think that any good heel bearing grease should be good for that, it's not supposed to have water in there anyway.The OEM manual is always going to reference their own stuff and the aftermarkets just copy it."
 
any good grease WITHOUT teflon

any good grease WITHOUT teflon in it. some of the waterproof greases have that in it and it will ruin a gimble bearing.
