"I purchased this the other day for $20 bucks, took it home put some gas in and it fired right up! I know nothing about engines, have a feeling it needs a tune up. Was told it was a 2hp. Any idea what it is???

Also, i see a tube by the prop i assume is the impeller but no water is coming out of the engine any where while its running? is it clogged or is the tube for some thing else??

"Hey John,
Your motor is air

"Hey John,
Your motor is air cooled (you will see lots of fins on the cylinder), but the bottom (exhaust gasses) is cooled by the forward motion of the motor. That is why the water scoop is there. My first guess would be that it is about a 3 1/2 horsepower motor, but like Scott said, get a serial number if you would like more information."

"On a little tag on the engine i found this...

T-634-07d
4795135

also what should i do for a 'tune up'?

-do i need to grease any thing?
-take any thing apart and clean it?
-should i replace spark plug and where do i get one?
-what kind and how much oil to gas (i assume regular 2 stroke, not marine).

I know nothing about engines but point me in the right direction and i'll figure it out. I took the cover off and it looks like a lawnmower engine. I'm sure i can take it apart and get back together pretty easy with out messing it up if i know what to do once its apart. Thanks!!!"

my charts show that block #634

my charts show that block #634-07 as a 5.0 hp motor that uses a j-8-j or match plug and 16:1 oil mix and dont use marine oil use lawnmower 2 cycle oil.
