"Please help, I have 1998 Yamaha 225 fuel injected salt water series 2. Lower unit makes knocking noise at idle in gear. Lower unit has stainless prop. Is it possible that the noise is coming from the back lash in the prop? Is this a reason for concern?"

The noise you hear is probably the clutch dog making a little contact with either forward or reverse gear. Adjusting the shift cable will probably clear this up.

yes that is prop knock when yo

yes that is prop knock when you give rmp it should go away. i have noticed it in many models with a heavy s/s wheel
