anyone have an opinion on thes

anyone have an opinion on these engines? there seems to a million of them out there. are they good rebuilders? can you get parts for them? I'm looking for a motor for my 9'6" dingy.

Everybody has an opinion.The 9.5hp made from 64 to 73 was at 60 lbs the lightest 10hp you can buy.It is an excellant motor for fishing.There are lots of used parts around.The early as in 64 had problems with vibration and there was a factory anti vibration kit available.If you can do your own work get a manual and go for it.

"A known weakness is the exhaust gasket between the outer cover and the exhaust tower. Once it leaks, exhaust fumes get under the hood and the motor will not run correctly.

The replacement gasket is no longer available, but if the old one hasn't rotted it can be repaired."
