"My 2005 BF 150 has a miss at full throttle (against the stops). What's funny is that I can back off the throttle just a bit (I can't even see a change in rpms), and the engine runs fine.

What's going on?"

I have the same engine. It&#39

I have the same engine. It's the rev limiter kicking in.

"If you meant 6,2000 then the rev limiter is kicking in. If your really do mean 4,200 a) your tach is wrong - check to be sure the pole setting is at "2" on the back of the tach, or, b) you need a lower pitched prop."

"I was correct on the 4200 rpm. I checked the back of the tach today, and the pole setting is at "2". My prop is a 14.5 X 15 Honda stainless.

Could my tach be defective?

Megawatt"

"I just reviewed a Honda tech bulletin for my Faria tachometer, and I think the pole setting is wrong on my boat after all. The bulletin calls for a setting of "1" for a 4-pole alternator. I’ll move it to the recommended setting and hope that it fixes the problem. After all, I'm getting 38 mph (gps)on a 23' triple toon boat, so I don't think the prop can be that far off."
