A Chevy motor will run Just Fine if it's carrying a minimum of 10psi per 1000rpms....."

We purchased the boat a year ago. It was hit in the port stern on June 1, 2007. We just got it back on Monday. It has been a long year. Now I just want to do proper maintainence so I don't miss another boating season."

Sounds in the right range. Think mine run 30-40 at 3000 rpm and drop lower at idle maybe to 20?

Use straight 30 weight. I use the Penzoil Marine grade 30W.

"Yea, my engines are like Als. 50's at start up, then 45-50 depending on the engine RPM. Good to know that they can go lower, and it doesn't mean something serious is up! I have learned so much about my engines through this forum."
