I have a 1970s 65hp evinrude o

I have a 1970s 65hp evinrude on a 16ft seasprite. A machanic said my 2nd cyclinder is frozen to the block. I recently found a 1980s 85 hp evinrude and need to know if my controls will work on the 85hp motor. i have no power tilt or trim.

"i think,that would be a 73 65,..and both plugs should be red,so it should be ok,...the shifter should wk also....unless i have forgotten something....."
 
The 72-65 had a yellow plug on

The 72-65 had a yellow plug on the harness and it may / will not work.There was no 85 hp evinrude in the 80's . Model numbers required here.
