hello all i have what i think

hello all i have what i think is a 1959 15 hp merc kiekhaefer sn:1287144 am i right? and the big question how the @#$%&#@ do i change the impeller i got the lower end off and no impeller is it in the main shaft and if so how do i get at it. any help would be great or if someone has some pic's to show it that would be great. thanks

That is a bit earlier than anything I have in my manuals. You could try www.oldmercs.com and ask them there - should be able to help you out...."

"can anyone give me step by step instructions on getting the impeller out of this thing. I dont want to start pulling and twisting things. with out noing what to look for this thing is old and dont want to have to replace any other parts that i dont have to, thanks"
 
Those are a bit of a challenge

Those are a bit of a challenge---- best to find a greyhaired mercury man.Check with your local chapter thru the atique outboard club. Go to " aomci " and look for the links to local chapters.
