    "was told to get boat at top speed (after trimming out)and check rpm with handheld tachometer. i have a handheld tachometer (inductive) that will set for 6 cylinder, how do i calculate from 4stroke to 2stroke and get a accurate reading. 1988 evinrude 150 (im trying to determine which prop i need to run at the correct rpm"

    "From 4-stroke to 2-stroke divide the reading by 2.
    Read 5000rpm -running 2500 rpm. To make it work for You, the meeter must be able to read above 10.000 rpm!"
