"I have a 1986 mercury 50 HP on my pontoon. Recently rebuilt pontoon from toons up, installed new console. I had the cables loose at the shift box but not at the engine. Now when I shift into reverse it doesn't fully engage. At idle I hear no noise when shift to reverse but throttle above idle and it grinds. Do I adjust at the shift box or do I have to try and adjust at engine? No problems before rebuild of console."
