Hi all could some one explain

Hi all could some one explain the difference between a cross flow engine and a loop thru
Also is there a difference in weight between a 90hp and a 120 hp will any parts from the 1984 90 fit the 1987 120hp engine

Crossflow engines use holes dr

Crossflow engines use holes drilled in the side of the cylinder and a deflector on the piston to direct the incoming charge to drive out the exhaust.Looped engines use the incoming charge from the crankcase and positioned ports to effectively " loop " the flow to drive out the exhaust and do not need the deflector on the piston.Engine parts from the 90 do not fit the 120. Lower unit maybe is the same.

thanks ikia im replacing the 90 with a 120 boat compliance says max 115hp should i be worried about the 5hp difference
