Motor running backwards Anyone know

curious if anyone has had the

curious if anyone has had the problem with thier motor running backwards and what makes that happen and what will fix it? Could it be the stator? }

"It might be as easy as a broken flywheel key.
Normally a 2-stroke will start with ign from 0 to 5 degree AFTER TDC. If You advance it up to around 10 it will most likely kick backwards. For it to run is a different thing, but normally as You 'advance' the ignition, it will be retarded even more and engine will stop."

thank you everyone for responding but I think I fixed the problem. I talked to a guy who owns a marine shop and he told me to replace the trigger. It fixed the problem for now. Again thanks
 
As soon as you find that engin

As soon as you find that engine running backwards again...... list the model number (year/hp/make).
