I am having trouble starting m

I am having trouble starting my motor when I first go out in the morning. It will not start with out a shot of starting fluid. After it warms up it runs and starts like a champ. Any ideas!

"I have a 2001 yamaha 90 horse.low hrs,started this week ,runs perfect but prop wont engage.Linkage is good as are electronics .IBoat is on the lift and iam not close to any towns,closest dealer wants 350.00 just to get a look.friend said that it seems a sheer pin might be the problem.Iknow noting about boat motors but have freinds who will help.Anyone have an idea about what is wrong your help would be great thanks greg!"
