"The Tacho on my VP 18 HP 2002

"The Tacho on my VP 18 HP 2002 Diesel is on the blink.. It works erratically and there is condensation inside the glass, the seals are obviously well past their sell by dates .

I have the price from various suppliers and checked Ebay.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to refurbished them ?
AND
Does anyone know wether any VP Tachometer will work on my engine providing its 12V and the connections are the same ?

Have not found anyone to repair them. Make sure that what ever tach you buy is designed to becontrolled by alternator output or pulse generator. 2002 used both functions over the years. Check which one you have.
