Changing Raw Water Impeller on Crusader 350

"I just purchased a 1984 Calif

"I just purchased a 1984 Californian 38' with twin 350 crusaders. The raw water impeller is behind the water pump and pully. While you can reach the impeller housing from a sideway position, I am wondering if there is an easy method of replacing the impeller and not damage it? Thanks for a reply."

Pull the whole Pump,+ service it on the Bench...."

Yeah Bunker he is correct, I just did my 350 crusaders this week and pulled the whole pump to do it, makes it much easier. Mine had the sherwood pump.....it was tough to get the old impellers out, needle nose and lots of pulling going on with new one took a bit of lube on shaft and a few attempts to get the "key" lined back up."

Thanks. A mechanic told me the same thing. I purchased an impeller puller from Boaters World for approx. $78.
