Lewis....what about your ESA?

Lewis....what about your ESA? Does it still function with the new ignition or did you replace the ESA module?
 
ESA is the Electronic Shift As

ESA is the Electronic Shift Assist module that engages while shifting to stumble the engine (drop RPM's) to make shifting easier. It was originally designed to work with the point system and when you changed to electronic you either had to make a home made change (Pertronix Website) or buy a newer ESA that works with the electronic ignition. If your shifting is much harder now especially going from F or R into neutral then yours may not be working.

No new ESA. The system comes with instructions and components to install. My mechanic did a fine job. Shifting is very easy now. Actually better than before.

This is a good product.
